High speed multiplication and division, automatic decimal point placement, large capacity. Intended to incorporate all the advantages of rotary calculators (speed, large capacity) into a printing machine. After its introduction in 1964, there was a rapid succession of field service bulletins to correct various mechanical problems. Eventually, the machine colors were changed and it was reintroduced as the nearly identical 580 in 1967.
